You can think that PI 7.4 is like PI 7.31, except in SP09 and onwards that you have the Rest Adapter.
You should consider that main difference between single and dual stack is relative to the configuration, i mean in the single stack you only have the ICO object to do it.
You can do your own test scenarios without the necessity to include the eventual and particular enhancements. For example you can do a File to File with the ICO object in the same way that you do it in PI 7.1., however you can have an attribute to improve or to control something, but it will not be necessary to do an example scenario.
